Q: Can I get a certificate for the class? |
A: Certificates are only created for courses approved for Professional Development, or in the case of employer requirement. Not all classes are approved for certificates for Professional Development credits. As a rule of thumb, the computer classes, language classes and Professional Development Center classes are approved for certificates. If a course is approved for professional development, you will see ’PD Certificate Available’ in the course description. You must notify your Instructor of the need for a certificate, and attend at least 80% of the class to qualify for the certificate. |
Q: Are the courses approved for Educators Professional Development counted toward the 100 hour requirement. |
A: Any course must first be approved by the district supervisor, and probably contained in your PIP to count as hours toward the 100 PD hours required. We can issue the certificate, but it is your employer who will determine if this applies to your PD requirements. Wayne Adult School PD Provider code is #5570. Courses approved for our district purposes contain the line "Approved for Educator PD Certificate." |
Q: Is there an attendance requirement? |
A: No, unless a certificate of completion is needed for academic classes for professional and business purposes. |
Q: Do you have special consideration for Senior Citizens? |
A: Yes. Any person age 62 and over may deduct $15.00 from the fee for courses marked Senior Discount Available. All other book, lab or materials fees must be paid in full. |
Q: What is the schools withdrawal fee? |
A: A refund less $20.00 (non-refundable registration costs) per person will be made for withdrawals received at least 24 hours prior to first class. No refunds after this time. Refunds for withdrawals usually take three weeks after first week of classes. |
Q: What are our cancellation policies? |
A: The Adult Schol reserves the right to change locations, cancel courses, change evenings, times or substitute instructors. Should a class be cancelled for any reason, or filled before you register, all fees and other charges will be refunded or applied to another available class. |
Q: Can I transfer my registration to a different class? |
A: We do our best to accomodate a transfer to another class if there is space available. There are no additional fees due for a transfer. You must contact the Wayne Adult School at 973-633-3124 or through the ’Contact Us’ part of this website to make a request. |
